In December we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Katie Spielberg, Associate at 5AM Ventures, for dinner alongside several of our members for the latest event in our Venture Capital Dinner Series. These events serve as a wonderful opportunity for current MBG members to get to know representatives from the Venture Capital community in an intimate setting and ask detailed questions about what life is like in the industry – all building valuable professional connections. Organized within MBG’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, the VC Dinner Series offers our members an in-depth look at the career paths and behind-the-scenes operations in venture and company creation. We loved hearing about Katie’s career progression, what a day in the life of a VC associate is like, and her outlook on what makes for a successful company pitch. During her time at MIT, Katie was one of the founding members of the MIT Biotech Group, so it was wonderful to catch up with her and take a look at how far we have come as a student organization!
