Medical Outreach volunteers

Volunteers Around the World, a global outreach organization, is looking to bring a Medical Outreach chapter to MIT and needs a Team Leader to do so! Currently, we have active chapters at over 100 universities in North America and Oceania, including Yale, Cornell, UC Berkeley, USC, and the University of Sydney.

The VAW Outreach Team Leader would be in charge of recruiting student volunteers, preparing them for their trip abroad, and fundraising money for the clinics. The Outreach trip abroad gives volunteers the opportunity to receive shadowing and community service hours and have direct contact with patients under the direct supervision of local doctors, dentists, veterinarians and other professional staff, when they travel to one of our global locations for two weeks during a summer, spring and/or winter break. Please have a look at our projects website here! If you or any of your classmates are interested and would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact Ale Hernández, Site Outreach Coordinator Guatemala at
